back on track
October 3, 2007 at 11:46 am | Posted in accountability, Discipline | 9 CommentsJust over two weeks ago I started my part-time job as children’s director at our church. Adding those extra hours into my week really threw me off more than I expected. Probably because I didn’t really plan for the change and adjust.
It probably didn’t help that Donald started working later hours at work recently so we were also staying up and waking up later. My housework fell behind, homeschooling wasn’t flowing well, and even reading The Message fell to the wayside. I was talking with a friend over coffee about it when it became obvious to me what I needed to do…wake up earlier!
So today I am back on track. I woke up at 5:40am so I could get my Bible reading and prayer time before the little ones woke up. I was able to get more morning chores done before school. School went better. We are rolling full steam ahead.
Of course, I am going to need a nap this afternoon, but I know I am headed in the right direction again. Discipline is so hard. But the good thing is if you get disciplined in one area of your life, it usually starts flowing into other areas… so I’m off to eat my salad for lunch and take a much needed nap.

Be nice if we could take naps at the Pentagon. 😉

Well, my nap didn’t go as planned. Jessica didn’t sleep at all and Chloe slept half of her normal nap time. I did get about a half hour nap but the kids woke me up 3-4 times in that time. But it was better than nothing.

Kelly,
You’ll have to bug me once and awhile to make sure I stay on track. 🙂

OH, don’t worry I am very good at “bugging” people.

Lynn,
I was trying to think of something witty or profound to reply but all I could think of was…
I’m sorry…that is very sad.

I’m going to have to remember that for myself.
